fundraising tools

your very own web page

All teams will receive their very own web page to help them fundraise online. You can use the page to send email updates, upload team photos and communicate your team’s inspirational message. You can feature your sponsors along with their messages of support and thank them. This is also the place to keep track of your fundraising progress and the progress of other teams and see who is moving up the Fundraising Leaderboard in your industry category.

Building your team page is easy and takes little time and effort. If you need help getting started, check out our tutorial videos on YouTube or read the written instructions (PDF 198KB) .

Ensuring your Team’s Online Fundraising Success

Set your fundraising target – your sponsors donate because YOU ask them to and they want to help you achieve your team goal. Set your target high – your supporters will want to feel part of the experience in helping you and your team reach its goal. If you went online to a friend’s page, would you donate more if their target was $1,000 or $10,000?

Please contact the TRAILWALKER team at trailwalkersydney [at] oxfam [dot] org [dot] au if you would like to update your team’s fundraising target.

Personalise your page – upload a team training photo and write a personal message detailing the amazing Oxfam TRAILWALKER challenge you are undertaking and why you are asking for support. Tell your sponsors what has inspired you to take on this challenge and help make a difference to disadvantaged communities in 28 countries around the world.  The same will inspire them!

Send an email update to your contacts from your team page. This feature is part of your team page and the link is on the right hand side of your team admin page. The newsletter is customised to your team and includes information on Oxfam’s work as well as a link to your team page.

In previous years, teams that sent out regular newsletters to their supporters/contacts were amazed at how many donations came in after it had been sent!  They included amusing stories of how their team was going in training and the various walks they had done, and news of any fundraising events the team was organising.

Send an email – make sure you send the link to your team page to all your friends, family and work colleagues, asking for support.  Just copy and paste the link from the address field on your team page into your email – this is more effective than telling them how to find your team from the Oxfam TRAILWALKER home page and takes your supporters straight to your team page.

Or, send an e-card which automatically adds the link to your team page to an already prepared message which you can change to suit your audience - tell your friends/contacts what you are doing, why you are doing it, your team's goals, trials and tribulations and let them know how they can support you.

Thank your donors – don’t forget to thank your donors!  You can get a full list of team donors by clicking on the “Thank You” on your team page or you can ask the TRAILWALKER team for a team donor report.
