WE MADE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!
What an adventure ! It was tough, it was painful, it was long but we made it all together...1 day / 1 night (4 degrees) / 1 other day filled with fun...and just a tiny bit of pain. So happy that even the tears now seem not too bad.... Support crew, donors, family, friends and all the volunteers during the walk, you were great ! Thank you for your support, without you it would have been impossible. We all rock

Week - 4 : Check Point 1 to 3 = 30.5 km - Lost !
9 hours of walk this week. Of course it would have been shorter if we didn't get lost .....and walk few kilometers before even realized it. Everything started at 2pm on Saturday from the Check Point 1. It's been 3 times already that we walk this section so I guess we know every trees, rocks, hills, traps and other dangers. So, NO, we didn't get lost there thanks. Nooooo, we thought it was much more funny and challenging to wait for the night to do so. Specially when we had 6 lights for 9 people and already 6 hours of walk in our legs... Anyway, after having completed the first session and having celebrating Eilish and Mark last walk as "single souls", we were in pretty good mood to experience our first night walk. But everything was far too easy...so first Jessica started to develop an enormous blister - the size of 50 cts coin ! Poor Jess she didn't knew yet than she will have to walk for 3.5 more hours on it...Secondly, we let the guys leading the walk.....Serious error ! We ended up in a beautiful camping area full of drunk teenagers and mad campers looking at us like we were lost..what a strange idear? Us, lost ? never ! So, to show them we knew exactly where we were and what we were doing, we decided to take a short cut to catch up the trail instead of going back.... Never, ever try a short cut....we never managed to find the way, had to go back, and pass in front of the camper again. At that stage, we almost stop to share a beer with our favorites drunk teenagers but finally decided to walk as fast as possible to the point where we were not supposed to cross the bridge. So everybody, DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE. It's a beautiful bridge, quite new and attractive but just as with the mermaids, don't follow them, don't event look at them just run! After this 1h45 of extra walk, we were back on track and ready to face the bush by night. Few collisions with wild animals like rabits, possom and ferocious leafes later we finally made it alive.... But it's not the

Week - 5: Starting Point to Check Point 2 = 29 km - Epic !
A long, very long, extremely long day ..... Results : one injured toe, one delirious chick, some war painting on our faces, a weird double encounter with a smelly guy and a lot of fits of laughter about "rooster" (to be polite). 6.15 am Saturday morning: waking up. Damned, it's raining ! But we signed for it so let's go suffer . 9.15 am Ready to walk. Objective of the day: walk the hardest part of the trail under real conditions. We are a team of 5 today : Rebecca, Eilish, Uli, myself and a lucky rooster in the middle of the chicks: Paul (Rebecca's brother). 12.15 am: not to bad, we achieve the first step under the average time. To celebrate that, we stopped at a cafe to have lunch. Very bad idea.....45 min later we are back in track but our stomachs are too full and our muscles too cold. It's the beginning of a lot of trouble... Around 2.30 pm first signs of delirium, I can not stop myself laughing for nothing and everything. I almost kill myself trying to walk down the steepy trail at the same time as laughing. One hour later, 3.30pm, it's Bekky's turn, she injures her toe going down the hill. Enough ! We decided, we were in war against this hilly trail so we painted our faces in black with some burned trees... 5pm, not sure we are going well with the war.... we are a little bit lost...And it's not the first time of the day, we were lost already this morning when the smelly guy told us we were not on the right trail and we even managed to get lost at the cafe unable to find the toilets in front of the same guy (shame on us ). The night is coming, we have to hurry. With one light for 4 and not real idea about where we are and how long it's gonna take to go to check point 2, it's not the exact perfect conditions... 6pm, relief !!!!! Life is in front of us. We are at the check point 2 after a 4h30 walk for just 1 step. Paul is there waiting for us, obviously amazed by ourincredible performance ! End of the episode, let's go home.

Week - 6 : Bondi - Maroubra - Bondi 23 km
From 7 to 2 and finally 1 chick ! We are far far away from the 10% lost usually acceptable ... Come one supporters, we need you for a little bit of encouragement.
12 July
Week - 7 : Checkpoint 3 to 6 = 28.5 km
We are thinking about buying waterproof sneakers after this 29km walk on Saturday...We crossed about 10 thousand rivers, creeks, streams and others becks. The good news is, even without our flippers, we did that quicker than the average time. We are too good girls !
05 July
Week - 8: Check point 2 to 1 and return : 25 km
Happy this part of the walk is at the very beginning.....it's dam too hilly! We survived and we even managed to make new friends on our way. Ok, some enemies too, as we decided to stop for a little snack right in the middle of the trail...not our fault if it was the only sunny area ! Our all bodies are sores...

Can we handle the walk or will the walk handle us???
Hi fans... Our teams of intrepid adventurers (some may say crazy) consist of Jessica Ruelens, Eva Riou, Ulrike Imme, Steffi Jedvaj, Charlotte Morris, Karina Kiely, Becky Molloy, Eilish Hughes and Cathy Lawsin. We have been pretty quiet over the last couple of weeks, but now is time for our big outing! No, we are not all lesbians!!! But we have decided to come together...right now. For a good cause, a bit of exercise, and heaps of fun. Ok, there will be suffering along the way...100k`s would take you through 3 countries back in good old Europe!!! So there may be blisters, tears, frustration, pain, mud fights, snakes, spiders, leaches (already sucked good East German blood)- we may not even return as friends...or at all??? Time will tell...and we will tell you. So hang in there, follow our ride...aehm walk!...ok. Follow our path. And: SHOW US THE MONEY! Not us...but for little kids in Africa, South East Asia, all over the world, who are in desperate need for a little part of our welfare.
