Taking it easy - 28 June

Big night the night before - BD called in sick at about 7am. Berowra to North Turramurra, 21.5km, stages 3&4 of the event. Well BD, the grey clouds cleared and the sun was out, and we all hope you've gotten over your hangover. Very muddy underfooting and at one point, PC who was leading was knee deep in mud. At moments like this, PT truly believes it's a blessing that she's always holding up the rear end, she took the path up some rocks and kept her shoes and feet relatively dry.

Just two boys - 21 June

Just BD and PC this week. The girl's injured, the physio ordered her to rest her overworked muscles this week, CC was out saving lives. A very scenic part of the trail - CP 5-8 and beyond. Difficulty rating of 2 and 3 for these stages, CP 6-7 was a bit technical. Thanks to friends and family who have sponsored us so far. We'll keep training and you keep sponsoring..

The boys set a sizzling pace - 14 June

Cowan-Berowra-Cowan again this week, and the boys set a stiff pace. BD set the pace on the way out, determined to erase the pain from the last session, get's us to Berowra in just over 2 hours..PT consistently holding up the rear end about 50metres behind the lads. She's shorter, so her strides arent as big. We could not maintain the pace on the way back, we completed in about 4.40 with CC our strongest man leading us home.....He'd finished his warm down stretches when we got to Cowan. PT's feet took a bit of a bashing, a good Radox soak for her tired muscles

BD's back from Cuba..Cowan-Berowra-Cowan - 7 June

post image

Welcome back BD..Fresh back from his holiday in Cuba and Scotland, BD found the terrain punishing. The cycling in Cuba strengthened his quads, the food and drink he had consumed tested his new strength to the fullest. We were all pleased to get this 28km over and done with

We have a long trailwalker history, Team 018 was established by Greg Smith and has been participating in the Trailwalker in HK for many years with a proud track record of raising more than AUD$50,000 over the last three years to qualifying as a "Super team" by completing the event in HK just over 16 hours. Last year two members PC & PT moved to Sydney, but were unable to secure an entry into the event in Sydney. We got in early this year. We have two newcomers, CC a seasoned marathoner with an impressive track record and BD, brother of Team018 member Glenn. Our goal is to complete this event in a respectable time and to raise $5000 for a very good cause. We're offering our feet and thankyou in advance for your sponsorship..The Sydney event starts in Brooklyn and meanders through bushland to finish 100kms later at Mosman. We've found out from recent training sessions that the bushland can turn into very muddy marshland! Sponsor us generously, here's some food for thought.. $35 is about what 2 tix to the movies costs, it's also enough to build a fresh water well in Sri Lanka to serve 30 families; $50 buys you a carton of beer or a couple bottles of wine, it also buys a goat in Sri Lanka which helps the poorest families earn a living; $100 is about what a meal out for 2 costs with a few drinks, it's also enough to train a volunteer literacy educator to run literacy classes in Cambodia
