Night walk #1
Steve and Nicola attended the night walk session on Monday 15 June. 10kms from Berowra to Mt Kuringai. Beautiful night. Lessons learnt - Steve has a brighter headtorch than Nicola. Nicola needs to buy new batteries for her headtorch.

Near Cowan Creek
On Sat 13 June, Lee, Steve, and Nicola tackled the trail from checkpoint 4 to checkpoint 6 - a good 20kms. The walk started at the end of Bobbin Head Rd in Ku ring gai Chase National park and past the Sphinx Memorial. 2kms in, we backtracked for Steve's lost sunglasses (found them - yay!) and saw some flying fish (this was really awesome!). 9 kms later we hit checkpoint 5, St Ives showground (not quite as the gate was locked) and stumbled across Valda & Joe's 50th anniversary. Instead of joining the party we headed for checkpoint 6 and ate our sandwiches on a bench in the wildflower gardens. 12kms later we arrived at Kambora Public School. Time to catch a cab back to the car so we waited at Macfarlane Reserve Park. Watched a beautiful sunset, then tried to concentrate on Lee's reading instead of our freezing selves. Oh - and we saw a wallaby hop across the path in front of us too! The next training session is Monday night - practising walking in the dark...

Boot and Boot
We entered the trailwalker with much enthusiasm and excitement. However, not long after, we discovered Maureen would have to leave us for the Philippines. Never fear, we recruited Henning Neethling to replace her big boots (not literally). Training is underway.
