Cracked the 50k finally!! + welcome our newest team memebr Sue
Would like to say abig welcome to Sue our newest team member... I'm sure we are going to have a great time and look forward to training with you. Unfortunately due to injury we have lost Shaun Balnave and we wish him well and a speedy recovery on the knees. Myself and Katie finally managed to crack the 50K last week after a few attempts but ran out of time.. Started at Sphinx at the ungodly hour of 5am. We chatted and giggled and watched the sun rise which was stunning!! I have to say we were sadly disappointed at the lack of food outlets along the way as we were at that point craving Bacon and Egg sandwiches! very good ones at the marina in bobbin head if you haven't already been. So the beagles had to settle for the choccy sandwiches and mars bars which were very yummy and felt oh so naughty. We made good progress and saw very little other trailwalkers, all in bed like normal people I suspect. So finally were a little relieved we didn't actually have to walk up spit bridge we reached Balmoral Beach at sunset. After very nearly breaking our necks on the metal stairs be warned slippery when wet he he. Stopped for great calamari and chips to rest our weary stinging and not so nice smelling feet. Hit the final snag at the end but had hilarious time getting around the problem, I will say no more! So all walked out for the day we awaited our chariot to pick us up, thanks greg....

Cam's Corneas a huge success
Last night Team BAR held an ophthalmology continuing education talk for vets and vet nurses. The night was a huge success, we all had a great time, Cameron's talk was wonderful and our raffle was very popular. A very big thank you to Cameron Whittaker and our sponsors Intervet for providing a very generous bar and food tab, 3M for all the raffle baskets, Bannerman Trattoria for the $100 vouchers and Castle Hill Tavern for providing the conference room without charge. And thank you to our support team for helping make this event so successful.

A very big welcome to Shaun Balnave - newest member of Team BAR. Alicia's knees and ankles were not up to Brooklyn's challenges so we wish her well. Maybe next year. Shaun did his first team training walk today - 30k'ish- he did very well but was disappointed by the lack of leeches!!! Onward and upward darlings
