Success!!
A big Thank You to all our sponsors and supporters. Team Deja Vu crossed the finish line at 12.22 this morning, in 17 hrs 22 mins., having achieved our aims: all 4 of us finishing, in under 18hrs, having had a great deal of fun, and raising more than our target of $6000 for Oxfam! Apart from a leaky bladder (Camelbak, that is) and a mercy dash by a trusty support crew to supply a new one, there were no major incidents; we were well-entertained by the supply of songs, jokes and trivia from the Ministry of Fun; the Checkpoint Marshal kept all our transitions slick; support from the support crew was exemplary. We really appreciate all the encouragement, in words and financially, from all our supporters, and are grateful to Oxfam for enabling us to challenge ourselves and have a good time in a way which profits others in need.

Team Deja vu
A team of four women who love to run and run and run and run. That’s why we are taking part in the Oxfam Trailwalker, a one hundred kilometer endurance event. While most teams will walk we intend to run. Why? Because we love to run! We hope to complete the course in 18 – 20 hours. From Brooklyn on the F3 and the Hawkesbury River to George’s Heights, Mosman on Sydney Harbour, we’ll run along mostly bush tracks and fire trails, up and down rugged terrain. We won’t stop. No sleep or hot meals. Despite blisters, aching muscles and blackened toenails we’ll keep going so we’ll have the weekend free to recover our aching bodies. In order to take part in this arduous task we must raise at least $5000.00 for Oxfam Australia. Oxfam is an outstanding charity that assists communities living in poverty worldwide. They assist in the development of skills and acquiring resources that will enable them to become self sufficient, better nourished and educated. It would be fabulous if you could DONATE. Besides you don’t have to get a blister or lose a toenail to help. Thanks a tonne Helen, Mardi, Margaret and Chris.

Helen
The team medic. She’ll be ensuring we’re well stocked in anti-inflammatories and pain killers, but more importantly monitoring our need for more chocolate and jelly beans. She’s also our fastest member, capable of a snappy marathon in less than 3 ½ hours. This will be her third Oxfam Trailwalker.

Chris
The team nurse. She’s obviously the caring and sympathetic one. She successfully completed the icy and precipitous Northface100 (i.e. 100 kms!) solo in 18 hours. A serial Oxfam participant, this will be number 12 in her mission to do 20!

Margaret
The team Physio. She believes stretching, massage and a glass of good red wine should solve most ailments (unless it’s broken!). She’s also a volunteer lifesaver. We all hope her ability to swim won’t be necessary for this year’s event. Oxfam Trailwalker number 2.

Mardi
The team Radiation Therapist. Maybe she’ll glow in the dark to light our way to George’s Heights. She is always cheerful and never stops. She just survived the 10 day XPD adventure race in Cairns. Oxfam Trailwalker number 2.
