On your mark, get set, BAKE SALE!!!
Monday 15th June 2009 went down as THE MOST successful fundraising event to date held by “We’re off to see the wizard” and “One step at a time”. While you may attribute this to the fact that it has been THE ONLY fundraising event held so far, I’d like to think that the culinary talent on display was just simply irresistible- so irresistible in fact that Ryan managed to round up pre-sale buyers, Natalie was dubbed “Dessert Queen”, and Andrew’s home baked cookies mysteriously vanished before the sale had even begun! Now that I think about it, maybe our anonymous donation was a late payment for these disappearing goodies… 15cookies at $2 a piece? Coincidence?- quite possibly.

Long Weekend Walk
Bleary eyed, partially frozen and missing one team member, the newly named ‘We’re off to see the Wizard’ met up with sister team ‘Deloitte one step at a time’ at Royal National Park early Sunday morning for their third team training walk. As the clouds cleared to brilliant blue skies, the walk turned out to be wet in a completely unexpected way. Recent downpours had raised the water level of a normally dry river and converted approximately a quarter of the track into one giant puddle. Both of these resulted in sopping wet shoes and many girly shrieks as we slopped our way through the mud. After two ‘scenic detours’ we thankfully stumbled across a map conveniently discarded by a previous walker and completed the rest of the 15km trek without a hitch. With another training walk already pencilled into our diaries and plenty of individual preparation, this team is confident that they are up for the challenge! (For the moment at least) Thanks to those who have already donated and for the helpful tip “If it hails, just pick it up and throw it at other teams”. Much appreciated.
