Nearly at the start

Well we are nearly there... 5 months worth of training and we are all hoping that it will pay off... a massive thankyou to everyone that has sponsored us! Please stay tuned for our progress and we hope that we can all make it across the finish line... no matter how taped up we have to be to get there...

Best Pizza Ever

Yesterday we cracked the 50km mark in our training with a walk starting at Mt. Kuringai and ending at the spit. A leisurely pace and some long breaks meant our time dragged out to just under 15 hours. We started at 8am, and didn't finish till close to 11am. Davidson park is very dark and very cold after sunset, but the pizza we had delivered there was the best we'd ever tasted.

Lovely weather for it...

Team training has been ramping up these last three weekends. We've been prepared for the worst, but been lucky enough (or unlucky enough depending on your outlook) to miss the worst of the weather. The ongoing training and gear is definitely having an effect on our speed and endurance. Our biggest walk to date was from Cowan to Mt. Kuringai. We covered the hilly 23km in approximately 6.5 hours.

Anzac Day - First Training Walk

Our first team training walk went down on Anzac Day Sunday. Morning started off a bit rainy, but turned out to be a great day. Gareth, Ron and Tim hauled themselves 23km from Kambora to The Spit Bridge in just under 6 hours. A good start to the rest of our training activities.
