We would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at the Kavon Theme Restaurant and all our friends and family who supported us, for a great night and helping us raise $687.50! Everyone who went had a great night and it was good to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the night!

Sat 6th June
The guys headed out...without their beloved hobbit...carving up 30.5kms from Berowra to St Ives Community Nursery. Fun was had by all as John finally stepped out in his new trail shoes...puddles no longer stood a chance...and the headlights were tested. As a true team member, Amelia picked the guys up and eventually got them home...after stopping at 3 servo's before the freeway was even reached...pretty desperate!

Sat 17th May Brooklyn to Berowra Waters
Thank goodness for the sunshine! After some careful consideration, we decided to try our luck with the weather and get stuck into our walk from Brooklyn to Berowra. This section had not been so good to us in the past...storm, thunder, and lightening...but today was glorious. However we did cut our planned walk a little short...opting to stop at Berowra Waters vehicle ferry...but still happy with our 23.5kms for the day. Note to self and others...taxi's can take 1.5hrs...our patience ran out after 1 hr so we actually met the taxi 30 mins up the road. Another sponsorship book is complete...big thanks to Tony Linsley, Mr Wright, John Rose, Dave Burns, David Woollams, Kelly Budden, Park Ave Entertainment, Stephen Hughes, Michael Lambert, Craig Malone, Greig Valhorn, Allan Marion, Raymond Pritchell, Keith Hodges, Mr Bellamy, Robert Lynch, Don Knutsen, B. Peters, A.Hilleary, and A. Bond. Our Kavon Fundraising Dinner is coming up soon in a couple of weeks...sure to be a great night!!!

Sat 9th May
We completed the last 3 sections today from Kambora PS to Georges Heights Oval . We had beautiful weather and Catherine (god bless her socks) dropped us down so we could begin at 0830hrs, then after a spot of shopping and socialising, picked us back up at the end, about 1600hrs. After 28.5kms we could definitely feel our feet but thankfully no blisters or injuries. John missed out on walking due to soccer commitments...also missed out on climbing and sitting in the rock seat! ...see photos A big thank you to those supporting our fundraising efforts, namely Cameron Wough, Stephan Tyms, Peter Price, Paul Bunt, Neville Hill, Mike Wales, Kathleen Lynch, Allan Williams, Colin Groat, Kate Davies, Leah Kennedy, Mark Evans, Steve Croft, Rick Burns, T. Dickson, Mark Larkin, Edwin Barker, Gary Morley, Stuart Heaver and the Newcastle Buses Running Club, who all helped us complete our first sponsership book!

Sat 25th April
In ANZAC style, today the Oz Zealanders united and have begun team training on the trail. Despite Dennis' head cold, Amelia's hobbit legs, and a few short 'adventures', we walked 21kms from Ku-ring-gai HS to Kambora PS in about 5 hours. This included our lunch break at Ku-ring-gai Nursery (originally considered Endlicher just cause we thought the name was funny but then decided clean table, chairs and toilets was probably a more sensible choice). We're hoping our recovery is short and sweet (good luck at work Dennis and Mark & enjoy your soccer game John) and pretty confident we'll be in tip-top condition before our next training walk on the trail in a fortnights time. A big thanks to Catherine Mosely for collecting us at the end of the day, and together with Ian Berry for kicking off our on-line donations. Also thanks to everyone supporting us by selling and purchasing our fundraising chocolates..eat up...they're yum!

The Oz Zealanders!
The Oz members are Mark Ham and Dennis Britten. The Zealander members are Amelia Ham and John Proctor. Together...we are the Oz Zealanders...a team of 4 family/friends, taking part in the 2009 Oxfam Trailwalker, a 100km endurance walk from the Hawkesbury to Sydney Harbour, overnight (within 48hours) through the Australian bush. We're doing all this to raise money for Oxfam Australia, who work to fight poverty and injustice in 29 countries around the world, including indigenous Australia. Take a look around at our space and please consider donating to our team, helping us to achieve our team pledge of $6000
