where does the money go?
who and why? 01 January
I'm Jenni and I'm the team leader for no other reason than I handpicked our energetic team. Personally, I was inspired to take on this huge challenge by friends in both melbourne and sydney who have completed the trailwalk in past years and they didn't look like superman or wonderwoman, so I figured I could do it too. Oxfam is such a worthwhile organisation so that was also a motivating force - being part of their major fundraising event. And, like my Dad and my brothers, I like a challenge and as long as I don't think about walking from melbourne to torquay - which sounds a ridiculously long way - I know I can do it - one checkpoint at a time.
why the purple crayons?!? 01 January
We are a bunch of mums who were lacking in all creative thought but were desperate to register for the oxfam trailwalk and had limited time to make the cut. Hence we resorted to asking our kids for a name - and we all kind of liked this name as it had no real meaning - just sounded like a bit of fun. When I think of purple crayons I think of little kids creating drawings or when they are all over the floor - a mess. But we aim to draw a straight line to the end and go for it.
