Happy New Year 06 January

Our pre-Christmas training session went very well. Mel cracked the whip, and we kept up a good steady pace walking a total of 23km in about 4 hours. We will be having our next training session in a couple of weeks time, when we are all back in Melbourne. We will keep the site updated.

Our First Official Training Session 16 December

Seasons Greetings! Team "Wii not Fit" will have our first official trainin session this Friday night. We intend to walk about 20-25km all up, basically walking from Mordialloc to Patterson Lakes and back again. Fingers crossed the rain will hold out for us!

Welcome to our team page!!! 15 December

Thanks for visiting our team site! “Wii not Fit” is a group of first time Trailwalkers, and we are definitely all up for the 100km challenge!!! Our group is made up of three girls Mel, Kristie and Emily, and one very lucky bloke, our team leader Matt. Originally it was Emily’s crazy idea to attempt the walk, with the idea put to Mel and Matt in the back of an ambulance on the way to the Melbourne Half Marathon in October of 2008 (the ambulance is another story altogether!) The idea was received with enthusiasm, and shortly after Kristie joined us to make up our fab team of four. With regard to fitness, we all have different backgrounds. Mel is a “fitness freak” who completed her first ever 10km fun run in 2007 in just 43mins (did I mention she is a freak!). Matt is an expert in how to do a half marathon in just 2 weeks with the only training being a slow 10km plod (done on a Sunday morning after too many glasses of red the night before). Kristie is a sporadic, long time runner/plodder who after two kids and no sleep, is no longer feeling fit or fabulous, but will dig deep and find some hidden reserves somewhere, and Emily, although often slow, when it comes to the crunch like a Duracell bunny seems to be able to just keep going and going. So far, our support team is made up of Gareth and Josie. We know that Gareth is a medical guru, although we don’t expect his sympathy for any minor niggles as he pretty much only shows concern for major emergencies…so if one of us look like losing a leg, we are in good hands! Regardless, Gareth is certainly used to doing night shifts and will therefore be perfect to rely on late at night. Josie is a chef extraordinaire and without a doubt, the most single most organized person in the world, so we are all very fortunate to have them in our team.
