Our Captain - Doug 13 November
Doug - Our amazing captain. Always willing to go for a walk and loves training - on his own or with anyone that he can drag along. Last year Doug prevented us from getting lost along the trail and always knew where to go and what was coming up. None of us would be here if it wasn't for Doug - Thanks
Todd 13 November
Todd is up for the challenge again this year. A keen participant who will just get on with the job and keep on walking. Looking forward to cutting our time by several hours next year.
Marilyn 13 November
This is Marilyn - or as most people know her 'Maddie'. Last year the only girl on the team is very excited to have Melissa - someone who knows how to chat. This years walk is going to be very different!
Introducing Melissa 13 November
Our newest team member. Melissa is looking forward to the challenge of the trailwalker. She has done some trekking in the past so feels confident that she can take this on without too much trouble. We all welcome Melissa to the team and are happy to have her on board.
Our first team meeting! 13 November
First meeting down and a chance to take some happy snaps of our team. It was good to get together again and inevitably reality hit when we started talking training schedules and goals for next years walk. It seems we have little time between now and March so trying to get in some training dates as a team was a chore. We managed to come up with a couple of dates that at least 3 of us could attend and hope to kick off with a walk at the end of November - venue for this is yet to be discussed. There was a little bit of discussion about the trail - and those hills. We talked about what we would do differently this time and how we are going to work with our support crew. We are lucky to have one trailwalker behind us so at least this time we are one up on last year - WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE IN FOR!
Hello Hello Hello from Team ECHO 05 November
Welcome to our Team ECHO webpage! Thankyou to all of our SUPPORTERS. We look forward to keeping you well informed of our progress. Once again (thats for Doug, Todd and Marilyn) we are taking up the challenge of walking 100km from Jells Park in Wheelers Hill to Wesburn. We are very happy to welcome a new member to our team - Melissa - who has agreed to come along and join in the fun while raising money for Oxfam Australia, who work to fight poverty and injustice in 26 countries around the world, including Indigenous Australia. We have locked in the date of our 1st official team meeting where we will go through the process of organising our team training schedule, fundraising ideas and generally chat about the best way for us to get through this event. We have upped the anti this time and hope to finish the walk in 24 hours - thats 7.5 hours quicker than last year. Wish us luck!
