About 'Weak At The Knees' 08 January

Let me tell you a little about this group of inspirational young go-getters while you consider how much to donate.
Kate, Rick, Vicky and Sam are passionate walkers who all started at an early age.
They met in 1998 at the John Howard Institute for Ambitious Walkers. Life at the JHIAW was no walk in the park, with students forced to walk long hours with little walk-life balance. Kate, Rick, Vicky and Sam fell out of favour with the JHIAW in 2003 when they protested against the Institute's 2003 merger with the American Bush-war-king Club by refusing to wear their Wallabies tracksuit uniform to walk. Their refusal to say 'sorry' and subsequent stance against the Institute's WalkChoices policy saw them expelled forever.
The four walkers took the expulsion in their graceful stride and briefly joined the ill-fated Kim Beazley Centre for Lethargic Ambling. Since 2005 they have walked independently and now run the information resource website Walkipedia.
Rick was once quoted on his great passion as saying, ‘Walking is awesome! It’s good for you and takes you places in life - literally! WHOO!’
In 2008 Sam, Kate, Rick and their friend Carly suffered various injuries and mental scarring (which took some time to heal), on an horrific April weekend. Yet they have decided to take on the Trailwalker again.
Each member brings a unique quality to the team: Rick with his determination and ability to inspire through his ‘never give up’ attitude; Kate with her organisational and directional skills; Vicky with her bushwalking experience; and Sam with his provision of Salt & Vinegar chips.
Please give them your support!
