Our Challenge!!

post image

Oh, what a challenge! On the weekend of 16-18 April 2010, three PPB teams of four will be running/walking 100km to raise money and awareness for Oxfam Australia in the event “Oxfam TRAILWALKER Melbourne”. This is an endurance event, where we begin and finish as a team, walking and/or running the course over challenging bush terrain. The trail begins in Wheelers Hill, goes up and over the Dandenong Ranges and finishes in Warburton. All teams have 48 hours to complete the trail, however PPB participants have decided to take the challenge one step further and aim to complete the walk in less than 24 hours. We will be walking all through the night, with only short stops at each checkpoint. Each team has pledged to raise $3000, totalling $9000 for PPB to help some of the world’s poorest people. We are now in the process of training to complete the 100km. Various members have begun walking 2 hours into work every morning, others are walking 10km – 20 km on weekends, whilst some others are increasing their training at the gym. Over the next 13 weeks we will all be walking various sections of the trail and we will be keeping everyone up to date with our progress. We ask you to consider how you may be able to support us, either by sponsoring us directly and/or referring us to others. If you would like to sponsor us please click on the "donate to our team" link above or click on any one of our team members names on the left hand side to make a donation.
