Make sure you do not try to do it too fast so that you can enjoy the company of the other walkers & the great country you will walk through. I will be thinking of you every step of the way in one of the best things you can do. Go Ops

Mt Donna Buang
Sat 6th saw us tackle mount donna buang as our latest exercise in training. Those who have climbed this mountain will remember it is quiet steep. What we learnt was the track was a little overgrown and due to the wet weather it was leach infested. Anyway we climbed to the top with only a number of leachs being able to take advantage of our blood. It did help in us gaining more urgency in climbing the mountain. Needless to say we walked down the mountain via the road which was 17 kilometres which helped in getting good kilometres into the legs. Overall it was a successful training session, however one of our members who realised he was the only non - essendon supporter threatened to abandon our team if the king James Hird was mentioned again or how tough Campbell Browns arm slaps were during Lloyds last game. The next big walk is not yet planned however we are looking to step it up to around 8 hours walking time. cheers from the op's best

stepping up training
Hi all and thanks for dropping by and lending your support to op's best. We are stepping up our training for the massive 100k event over the coming weeks with the next training session taking place at Mt Donna Buang. We so far have completed two group walks, with each individual dedicated to lefting their own fitness during the week and when time doesn't allow for us to together and walk. While we are stepping up our training we are hoping to do the same in the fundraising stakes. While we are doing this for the challenge of body and mind, there does lie a deeper and more reason. That is to raise money for Oxfam one of the largest organisations fighting to reduce poverty and injustice. I'm sure most of you are aware of their work, if not please have a look around their website. So while we put in the hard yards, we hope you can contribute in any way you feel possible..large or small. It all counts to improving health and prosperity of those whom really need it. thanks again and ww will uptade further as the walk approaches cheers from chris, andrew, dale and mark
