Another TW run and done......

Firstly, well done to the Melbourne Midday Milers. They were the stronger team on the day. I thoroughly enjoyed the first 70km having another team in sight so regularly. Particular respect for those in the team that were battling but kept themselves moving right to the finish.

Team Muttley had a good day / bad day. We were happy to finish with a time quicker than last year despite our problems and a period of 25min sitting still. We were saddened that Bryan had to make the difficult decision to withdraw at 70km.

Our thanks goes out to our team supporters, without having you all in our corner wishing us well we could not achieve the things we do.

We have been very impressed with the generousity of everyone who has made a donation to Oxfam. I'm also sure the recepients of the programs that Oxfam coordinates, appreciate us giving a small part of our luxury to help them have a better quality of life.

Congratulations to the Oxfam event coordinators, yet again the quality of the facilities and organisation was excellent. Continue to be proud of this wonderful event that caters to nutters like us, but also every day people walking the whole way.

Will the Mutts be back to have another crack at finishing this event in a more appropriate manner? Never say never ;-)

With only days to go.....

Nothing to do now but rest and pack the gear before race day.

With disappointment we lost one of our original 4 from last years team due to a troublesome injury that could not be beaten.

Fortunately we have found a very able replacement in Anthony, so look forward to another quality event by Team Muttley.

We would like to thank our sponsors for their contributions to our team total, all of which will benefit the Oxfam programs. While our total looks a little lean at the moment there are still 2 main parts to be added. The $1000 worth of goods - GPS / Digital Camera / Portable DVD player - that will be auctioned off on e-bay in the next week or so. (check back here after the event for details of the auction dates and items)

PLUS, there is an additional $500 from our store suppliers which will go directly to the team total!!

Good Luck to all teams participating in Trailwalker 2009, we wish you safe running / walking and good cheer for the journey!!

Greg Rako, the proprietor, has generously offered $1000 worth of goods to be auctioned off. With all proceeds going directly to Oxfam as part of our fundraising efforts. Stay tuned for details of where you can go to buy the gear and donate to Oxfam at the same time!! What a deal!!

With 3 weeks to go there is not much more to do but fine tune the plans for event day. We are really pleased to see the rain this week to help bring a speedy end to the fires but also to greatly increase the chances of the event going ahead as planned.
