MAMASUTA 12 November

MAMASUTA walks....... What or who is MAMASUTA? Marita Furlinger, Max Lancaster, Susan Brown and Tania Pendlebury-four women who thought walking 100KMS for charity sounded like a good idea - at the time. No we were not drunk!! Originally we thought it was 25km each, easy peasy....and then the details came in. No it is 100KM's for a team of four, passing through checkpoints together and finishing together within 48 hours.AARGH!! So thus MAMASUTA was formed. The team name was made up by taking the first two letters of each of our names. Other names we considered were; "Happy Feet", "Walkies Talkies" and "Stupidity Walks". But we figured our feet would not feel happy after a 100kms! Walking and talking for 100kms, well that's a feat in itself and finally Stupidity Walks...well what can we say. So MAMASUTA was formed, strong and powerful ready for our long walk on 27nd-29th March 2009! Finally the bonus of all this walking is we also get to raise money for Oxfam. Did you know just $35 can pay for materials to build a public well in Sri Lanka, providing fresh water for 20-30 families. Imagine what can be achieved for people less fortunate then us. So help us walk strong and and please support our team with a donation. Thanks to all and we shall keep updated with our training progress. GO MAMASUTA!!!!!!!
