Snake !!!!!

Not really but I can tell you that when you think you see a snake your heart rate jumps considerably and quickly. Doug and Todd out for a training walk last week when just the head portion of snake was sighted. Heart rate monitor jumped from about 130 to 145 instantly and Todd jumped about three metres backwards! Closer inspection revealed legs ! and some sort of lizard scurried away as we passed. Incident averted but at least we know the heart works!

Getting Started

After a little bit of arm twisting, coercion and downright bribery Trip and Stumble Trekkers is finally up and running (or walking as the case may be). Two repeat offenders (Todd and Doug) and two trailwalker virgins (Mark and Andy). After plenty of talk we've finally got down to the task at hand and have completed a couple of training walks where we've done lots of talking about what the event entails, the challenges, the concept of pushing yourself harder than before and the joy of achieving something that is really really difficult ..... all the while knowing that the people who receive our fundraising will benefit and who's lives will be just that little bit easier. So talking is over, training is happening and importantly we've got a plan! Our support team is critical to our success and they are starting to mobilise and with the love and supprot of our families and friends we look forward to successfully completing the event as a four and raising much needed funds for the Oxfam charities. Thanks for your support ...... early shout of thanks to the Melbourne Poker Tour who chipped in $110 during the last round.
