Trails+... Supporting Ultramarathon Running

post image

We welcome Trails+ on board to support us in our 2010 campaign.

last week

Well, here we are with less than 1 week to go. We have changed our name again to Trails+. Trails+ is an events management organisation who stage the Maroondah Dam 50, and the YouYangs 50/50, both successful trail running races. A huge thanks to our good mate Brett Saxon from Trails+ who has done so much to support the demanding sport of ultramarathon racing in Melbourne, and more broadly, across Australia. There are plans underway for more events happening in the near future by Trails+. We welcome Bryan Ackerly who was previously with Team Muttley as Milov's (Michael's) replacement. As the old saying goes, 'if you can't beat em, knock off one of their runners'. Maybe that isn't quite right but it's good enough. Robert is the only one who has sustained an injury which was from the last run of 30km from Birdsland Reserve to Olinda and back. It has been fixed so we have to wait and see whether it will be a problem or not. Team plan is for Mal to set the pace, Rob and Kelvin to control themselves, and for Bryan to give us a lesson on how to run up hills. Have you seen him go?? Must be part mountain goat in his genetic make up. A big thanks to our super crew of Bill Hall and Malcolm Corry: we would be stuffed without these 2 champs who will no doubt guide us to a sensational result. A huge thanks to all our sponsors so far, including those from other teams! To Darrel and Rohan, thanks guys. DONATE DONATE DONATE

conquering Coast to Kosciuszko Ultra Marathon

The squad of Banana Soup, soon to be known as Coast to Kosciuszko Conquerors have done just that, Milov starring with a 4th, Rob with a debut 10th, Kelvin just missing Rob's scalp with 11th and Mal's exceptional demon defeating finish around 20th. Only trouble is we all did it completely differently, we are sure we will get it together for TW when our worlds have to colide, Milov the master of notes and strategy, Rob who seemed to only be comfortable at night, Kelvin who was only comfortable during the day and Mal who adapted to whatever was necessary to make sure all of us got to wear the Akubra and a new hat pin for the day. What a great event for all of us.

Were back to do it all again and try for that elusive 10hr time. Again as an all Cool Running team, you follow our latest musings and internal self destruction on the the Cool Running forums. Fortunately only Rob knows the password to this site so can pay out on the others without fear of retribution. It wont be the same without 2008 winners Team Muttley this time but hopefully we'll do a time competitive with their previous efforts. Any donations will be well publicised and appreciated, donate now to the bridesmaid team of all bridesmaid teams....Banana Soup! (Although Best Boys seem to have a fair claim on that title too)
