Less than a month to go!!
Well, I guess the photo says it all. . . . there is no turning back now! With under a month to go, you might have seen a few of us hobbling around the place and looking generally a bit worse for wear! The training has been pretty hectic, together we walked over 1000km in Feb and looking to do a lot more in March! A couple of the Feb highlights involved: Walking the longest leg of 24km without a break on a 35 degree day. Things were going really well until we overshot the finish by about 2km. After this, we took a bit of a shortcut through the bush (and maybe someone else's farm - we aren't quite sure) which ended up adding another hour or so to our finish time. What a day! The Night walk! We attempted a 23.4K walk through the Dandenongs from 8pm until 3am. This ended up being closer to 26km after we managed to get ourselves lost in the bush at around 2.00am. Big thankyou to Steve Jobs and the Apple iPhone for getting us out of that one alive! We have recently discovered that the actual event is flagged every 100m - so thankfully, we shouldn't get as lost as we have been in training. Again, THANKYOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!!

Blue Steel: Off the sauce and training like champions!
We are a group of 4 graduates from NAB taking on the Oxfam Trailwalker for 2010. Walking 100ks in 48 hours might seem like a stupid idea to some - but we are absolutely committed to the challenge and to raising as much as we can for the kids! As a part of this, we have made a commitment of our own to earn your hard earned cash donations: Each of us is giving up drinking alcohol from 1 February until 16 April (89 days in total). If for a special occasion we need to purchase a 'leave pass', we will be required to personally match the donations in our Oxfam account for the month to date. I.e - If Rhys wants to attend the George Michael concert (which would involve drinking and getting his dance on) on 3 March - Rhys would need to match all donations from 1 March to 3 March (capped at $500). Keep your eyes our for our charity trivia night and garage sale that are all scheduled in the near future!! 8 feet, 4 graduates, 2 days - 1 hell of a massive effort!!
