The Secret to Lorry's Calves Revealed!!!!!!

post image

I have received several emails after my first blog that the size of Lorry's calves have been exaggerated. Others have asked how they too can have calves as big as Lorry's. First things first. Don't think his calves are that impressive in person? Next time you see him, have a good look. Ask to touch. He won't mind. Then get back to me and tell me you're not impressed. What I can also reveal to you today is that Lorry may have been given some 'assistance' in achieving the ultimate in lower leg toning. 4 hours of calf raises a day at the gym can only do so much. Yes, like televisions Johnny Drama, Lorry went under the knife and got calf implants. They are just like real calf muscles but much bigger and better defined. Worth every sweet penny they were. There, it's out in the open. Please donate.

Marathon Man

post image

I haven’t known Mike for a long time, but I know a good bloke when I meet one, and Mike definitely fits into this category. Mike is the oldest person in our team, but by far the fittest. With legs like springs and a heart like a lion, Mike will consider the 100km event as a warm up. But the secret to Mike’s endurance was discovered at Oxfam 2008 when he was caught showing his age and taking nana naps at check points. Mike is one dedicated team member, travelling all the way from Saudi Arabia to compete in his second Oxfam event. Whilst the rest of the team will be sleeping battered and bruised the next day after the event, Mike will be on a long flight back to work in Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, it will be good to have Mike back even if it is for a short time.

Not long to go

post image

Less than 6 weeks to go. Supporting the Support Crew is hard at work running many kilometres every week. Last weekend Dan, Lorry, and Paul ran 35km in four hours and 15 min, whilst Mike did hill training in Saudi, running 32km in four hours. Now to get to know another of our team members more intimately: Dan "The King" Coleman. The captain of our team, Dan has taken the rest of the team under his wings. And what strong and well defined wings they are. Dan the man has an ability that only a few lucky people have experienced firsthand, including his fellow team members -motivational speaking that has not been seen in any arena, putting all the top AFL coaches to shame. It’s not so much the words said, such as, “suck it up princess, lift, harden up, get up, you’re weak, you make me sick, soft etc” but the way they are delivered, making the most weak and fragile person feel like they can run through walls. Watch out support crew, if you do not meet Dan’s high expectations. Please donate to our team, Supporting the Support Crew, and you may be fortunate to hear Dan deliver a speech first hand.

Introducing Team Member Number 4

post image

Introducing Team Member Number 4. Lorry! Lorry is best known for his team first attitude, his resistance to pain and his massive calves. How they got this big we will never know. Repulsed or turned on by them, either way you cannot stop looking at them. Given any chance he shows them off. How else would you explain his penchant for wearing shorts at a wedding. Next time you see him and he's hiding behind a pair of pants, ask him to show a little leg. You will not be disappointed. Visit the Aussie Disposal store in Elizabeth St to see them yourself. Viewing times Mon-Fri 9am-6pm.

The Animal Unleashed!

post image

Those of you that know Paul well will know of his intensity in everything that he does. During the week, he is a mild mannered purveyor of thought. On the weekend, he transforms, Rob Scheider style, into a training animal. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!! Support him as he trains in preparation for the 100km event. All donations accepted and much appreciated. Of course the more you give, the more we appreciate it. Don't make him come out and get you. Donate online now.

Back in Training

post image

After a big festive season, Supporting the Support Crew is back in full training. Last Saturday, Paul, Dan and Lorry completed 3 laps of Albert Park Lake. Tomorrow we are aiming to complete 4 laps before tackling a couple of ascents of Mt Donna Buang the following week. Nothing like a bit of hill training to work those quads. Mike is also carving it up in Saudi, knocking out 16kms in a tick over 72 mins. The Support Crew also resumed their strict training regime after a few weeks off. Here is a shot of one of the crew members hard at it last weekend. Good to see them taking their role seriously.
