Well done to all teams!

post image

After running for an incredible 12 hours and 29 minutes, the winning team of four crossed the line! 'Marcus Pulled a Heart Muscle', a team of 4 men, was closely followed by 'SOBOE St V's' a team of 4 women. Both teams looked fresh and sprightly as they crossed the line to crazy applause. Hot on their heels was the first mixed team to cross the line, 'Pivotal Power'. This team of 2 men and 2 women are also one of our strongest fundraisers, raising a whopping $10,682 for Oxfam's work reducing poverty and fighting injustice. Now the first teams have crossed the line, we wish luck to everyone still out on the trial and look forward to more and more teams triumphantly marching under that FINISH sign.

What a day we had! 12 hours 56 minutes for 100kms

post image

All of us are very happy with our result. 1st mixed team & 3rd overall complete team for the day. Originally would have been happy with top 10 but hey!!! All have pulled up well & this time Deanna made it down the steps off plane in Hobart on way home. Thanks to everyone involved in the day who helped us out. From Brains & Adam doing food/drinks the whole way. Liegh & Brains on bikes for a while. Commando, Badger & Mal doing a running stint with us & generally encouraging us all the way home. THANKS GUYS!!!

WABA WABA WABA

post image

Thanks Waba for your $1000 donation. Even though you did it 2 times by accident it still is making our total look good. Waba is the one on the left handside from our last Oxfam 2008. BTW - The man in black is the real Commando,(not some made up TV character) who is still missing in action since doing the full ironman last week. Awesome effort! even though we are having trouble getting his donation as yet.

Big thanks to all!

post image

Only 10 days to go, and we wanted to say a special big thanks to all of our families and friends for putting up with us for not being around, our dirty washing, no social life, no alcohol, no late nights, in bed by 8.30pm, up at 4.15am, the never ending smell of deep heat.

Casual Sunday at the 1000 steps

post image

Had another full team hit out yesterday at the 1000 steps. Started at 4am in the morning and we did 20 loops of steps & Lyrebird track. All did very well considering how busy it gets there mid morning. All wearing our new tops for the big day as well. They look very good. Deanna was over from Tassie with partner Badger who did 10 loops just because he could!! We are hoping that Deanna is not pushing him around in a wheelchair over next few days. Had lots of support on the day from family & friends. It was nice to come down after a loop and see smiling faces relaxing there while we toiled away again & again! Not exactly sure how much we raised on day through donations as yet but will be well over $500. Thanks everyone! The picture is Stevens new sponsor - The Grand Angus Burger. One team family member was heard to say - he has never eaten 2 of them. But I think that will be sorted fairly soon Adam!

Stevens near FATAL ATTRACTION!

post image

Last Saturday when running between Mt Evelyn Football oval & the start of Warbie trail Steve had 500 mts of anger chasing him up the road. After a few near misses the massive dog finally got hold of his target - Steves brand new $35 running socks! He had only put them on at Olinda. Luckily for Steve the dog only just nipped his leg but I think he was more worried about new socks than rabies. Looking forward to Joy Rd next time for sure.

post image

Last Friday we all took a day off from work & had a training day as a complete team. Deanna was over from Tassie for weekend so it was a great chance to get some team bonding going.
