Senator Wong – I ask that you rethink what is possible

The Rudd Government recently announced a 5-25% greenhouse gas pollution reduction target by 2020. As a very high polluting and rich country, Australia is avoiding its responsibility to take strong action. In doing so, we are threatening the livelihoods and lives of millions of people in our region. Encourage stronger action.

We have made some significant progress in the last 12 months. But the Australian Government must now work in partnership with Indigenous health bodies to develop a National Action Plan.

Save the Mekong

Write a letter to Mr Smith and Mr McMullan asking that they urge the Mekong River Commission Joint Council to make any information about the potential impact of the dams freely available. The people of the Mekong have a right to know how these dams will affect their lives.
